Happiness

In 2008, CHUNG created a series of works that expressed inner emotions through color tones. The growth and maturation of plants are comparable to the feelings of inner peace and joy one experiences on a sunny spring day. This work utilizes a combination of techniques, depicting green curtains drawn to both sides to let in a large swath of golden light in the center. A pull exists between the two black color blocks to the left and right, separated by white color-blocking in the middle. They resemble two people having a quiet, intimate conversation amongst themselves, taking joy in this warm and happy occasion.
