The 1950s saw the rise of the Taiwanese film industry and the creation of many "firsts" in film history. From the poorly photographed The Six Talents of the West (1955), with its different Minnan accent, to the industry-standard 35-magnum film Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochun (1956), fans witnessed the birth of the first authentic Taiwanese film. It was also the first Taiwanese fashion film to set a box office record, and was a traditional "bitter" film. Time Out Cinema's "The First One" NFT series brings collectors three films from the 1950s that pioneered the development of Taiwanese cinema: "The Six Talents of the West", "Xue Ping Gui and Wang Bao Chuan" and "Flowers in the Rainy Night", an adaptation of a well-known song. Collectors who collect the full series of newspaper editions will also receive a mysterious airdrop!
